Getting Started... First-time blogger :)

I thought I would give blogging a try as a way of journaling and writing letters to the baby throughout my pregnancy and beyond.  I did a little bit of journaling with Adelina, but not a lot, so hopefully this time I can add little bits here and there and keep better track of my thoughts, info from prenatal appointments, and letters to baby… before my brain forgets them!  Here goes…
September 2011… What an adventure the last few years have been!  I quit teaching for a year to move to China for Manuel’s job with Intel.  We were only expecting to be there a TOTAL of 9 months.  We arrived in China in September 2009, when Adelina was just 10 months old.  Here we are, October 2011 and we’re still here!  We thought we would wait to try for baby #2 until the whole China adventure was over, but seeing as though we have already stayed a lot longer than we originally expected, we decided not to plan our lives around Intel anymore.  So here we are, living in China and expecting baby #2!  Lina is going to be a big sister!  YAYAYAYA!  ;)  The latest updates with Intel are that we got extended again, to stay until December 2012, but then that project got cancelled, so that put us back to March 2012.  Since the baby is due in March, and I don’t want to have my baby in China, we are going home for good in January 2012!  Living in China has been such a blessing!  We are excited to move back to Arizona in January and get ready to be a family of FOUR!
Thank goodness Intel takes care of their employees and families!  We have the Intel health clinic here in China that is for Intel employees and family members only, with great doctors.  For prenatal care however, they don’t have the technology for ultrasounds, etc.  So Intel pays to fly us to Hong Kong for ultrasounds and prenatal care while here in China.
Sept. 9th (about 13 weeks pregnant) was our first doctor appointment in Hong Kong.  The doctor’s office was very nice, clean, and everyone spoke English—imagine that!  ;)  Just like you would expect to find back home in the US.  The ultrasound was very neat!  We got a little printout of ultrasound pictures.  Baby is about 7 cm right now.  You could see the baby bouncing around on the ultrasound.  I can't wait to feel all those movements and kicks!  Everything looks great with baby so far and we couldn’t be more excited!  We will be going back the third weekend in October for my 20-week scan.  Looking forward to another great trip to Hong Kong, and maybe even a day at Hong Kong Disney!!!
Mid-September… I’m about 15 or so weeks along in this pregnancy, getting anxious to feel baby’s movements.  When I lay flat on my back, a little lump appears, and it’s easy to see and feel where baby is hanging out.  Lina loves to put her hand on my tummy and love on the baby.  She always comments, “I love your baby belly.”  I can’t wait to see her in her big-sister role!  I think she will be amazing!
